10,000 Kids:
The mission of 10,000 kids is to improve the lives of a minimum of 10,000 kids in Southern Nevada annually. The scope of their work includes but is not limited to: education; vocation; health; family relationships; homelessness; drug, alcohol & gang prevention and intervention; and social and spiritual well being. 10,000 Kids is working with other community partners to build awareness of the Methamphetamine (meth) problem through the development of The Crystal Darkness Meth Training Handbook and a “train the trainer” program. The Ritter Charitable Trust supported 10,000 Kids and the Crystal Darkness Campaign.

Adoption Exchange:
The Adoption Exchange is an agency that serves abused and neglected children by connecting them with adoptive families. This agency provides support to these families throughout each phase of the adoption process and also provides training to child welfare professionals and connects children in Nevada and seven other member states with American families living in the U.S. and abroad.

Association of Fundraising Professionals:
The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) exists to foster the development and growth of fund raising professionals and the profession, to preserve and enhance philanthropy and volunteering, and to promote high ethical standards in the fund raising profession.

The Las Vegas Chapter of AFP was chartered by the national organization in November of 1991 and currently has more than 100 active members who are professional fundraisers for a variety of cultural, social service and educational nonprofit organizations in Southern Nevada. Additionally, the Chapter hosts monthly educational meetings featuring speakers of interest to nonprofit organizations; hosts live audio-conferences with renowned national nonprofit experts; offers a certification program; provides opportunities for networking with peers in the profession; and offers a newly established mentorship program for those new to the fundraising profession. The Ritter Charitable Trust helped to underwrite the expenses of the 2007 Philanthropy Day awards luncheon.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada, founded in 1973, matches children with adult and older teen role models. The program is affiliated with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and is one of more than 500 agencies that have mentored children for over 100 years. The Ritter Charitable Trust supported a trip to Disneyland for "littles" (children served by the agency) with good grades.

Children's Service Guild/Child Haven:

Child Haven is a part of the Clark County Department of Family Services (DFS) and provides temporary care and treatment for abused, neglected and abandoned children between 3 days to 17 years of age. The Child Haven campus consists of eight cottages, and activity and school centers. Children are assigned to a cottage based on their age and sex. The cottages have a capacity of housing 12 children each, except for the infants cottage, which has a capacity for 20 infants.

From the moment of diagnosis, they provide the practical information and tools to “live strong”. The LAF was founded in 1997 by cancer survivor and champion cyclist Lance Armstrong and is located in Austin, Texas. The Ritter Charitable Trust has committed to a multi-year grant in support of the LIVESTRONG Notebooks, the manual for those affected by cancer in need of information, next steps and hope.

Las Vegas Philharmonic:
Since its formation in 1998, the Las Vegas Philharmonic has grown to be one of the most successful arts organizations in Nevada’s history and consistently plays to sold out audiences in its expanding Classical Concerts, Soiree Recitals, Youth Concerts and other performances. The Philharmonic is especially proud of its Youth Concert Programs that encourage children to study music in school. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. The Society's mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Since its founding in 1949, the Society has invested more than $550.8 million for research specifically targeting blood cancers. A grant was made toward the San Francisco Nike Women’s Marathon in October.

Nevada Coalition for Suicide Prevention
The Health District’s Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion is working with the State Suicide Prevention Program, the Nevada Coalition for Suicide Prevention and the Clark County Children’s Mental Health Consortium to develop public information campaigns designed to: increase public knowledge of suicide prevention; increase public understanding that mental and physical health are equal and inseparable components of overall health; and increase public understanding that people pursuing mental health services, substance abuse treatment, and suicide prevention can greatly improve their overall health. The Ritter Charitable Trust provided a grant to support the anti-stigma campaign.

Nevada Law Foundation:
The Nevada Law Foundation was founded in 1983 to address the significant need for funding of legal services for the poor and legally disadvantaged in Nevada. As a result, Supreme Court Rules were adopted to allow interest to be earned on lawyer's trust accounts and to allow the funds to be utilized for the indigent.

Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY):
The mission of the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth is to end homelessness among teenagers. Through its street outreach program, this organization finds chronic street youth and helps pay for emergency overnight shelter or brings the kids to Westcare—the only 24 emergency shelter and drop-in center in Southern Nevada. NPHY also sponsors the Safe Place program, Step Up program, and the Miner Homeless Management Information System program. The Ritter Charitable Trust supports NPHY through events and the Mentor Match Program.

SAFE House:
SAFE House works with families to Stop Abuse in the Family Environment. It provides crisis intervention, shelter, and counseling services to domestic violence victims and their children, and accredited treatment services for perpetrators. SAFE House collaborates with community partners, such as The Southern Nevada Domestic Violence Task Force, Nevada Network Against Domestic Violence, Clark County Family Services, and many others, to address the issues of domestic violence.

Southern Nevada Domestic Violence Task Force:
The Task Force is a community coalition formed in 1990 by the Honorable Terrance Marren, Eighth Judicial District Court Judge, for the purpose of preventing and reducing domestic violence in Clark County. It provides a forum for the sharing of information and interaction of agencies dealing with domestic violence victims and perpetrators where current methods of response to domestic violence can be identified and analyzed.

Sponsored by Spread the Word Nevada, the Kids to Kids program provides new and gently used books to pre-kindergarten through middle school children attending at-risk schools. The Ritter Charitable Trust contributed to the Stephen G. Schorr Golf Tournament that was held to raise money for the Stephen G. Schorr Elementary School.

William V. Wright Elementary School:
William V. Wright Elementary is a year-round public elementary school that opened in August 2006 and was the first school to be opened in the master-planned community of Mountain’s Edge. The Ritter Charitable Trust provided a matching grant for funds raised to purchase books for the school.
